Who am I?

KentonSignaturePortraitKenton Johnson is a guy who feels blessed to be in the IT industry for over a quarter of a century, and in ministry for even longer.  Computer work has always been my “tent making” job, a reference to the Apostle Paul’s vocation.

Part of finding fulfillment in both of those worlds is really one in the same:  I like helping people.  Sometimes that’ss fixing their computer or printer.  It may be simply being there for a first responder who is struggling with the trauma he or she is exposed to. Sometimes it is coming beside a person who is grieving the loss of a child to violence, the loss of their home to a wildfire, or the loss of their sense of self esteem in a world that seems to grow colder day by day.

I couldn’t do what I do without the loving support of my wife of over 30 years.  Rachel is a native Northwesterner whose ancestry includes the fascinating story of a woman whom the doctors said would never survive the wagon ride.  Her loving family has a nice coffin built before leaving the Carolinas to keep the wild animals from digging her up, assuming they would have to bury here somewhere along the way.  That coffin rode in the wagon the entire trip and she lived a long life in the Willamette Valley for many years afterwards.  Sometimes we carry burdens along life’s trail that we need not worry about, sometimes those serve as reminders of God’s grace and mercy after the fact though.  Rachel and I can relate to that as we see His hand in our lives over the years.

Thank you for looking at my website.  If I can be of help to you, please don’t hesitate to let me know how.

Oh my gosh Kenton. That was delightful to read. Are you also an author of a great book just waiting to come out?

    • Pat, you wonderful provider of EFA to those in trauma, thank you. No books coming out that I am aware of, though if you print out some of these pages they would make Vol I and Vol II of a huge tome no doubt. lol. So while I have no real book coming out, you CAN click on my newspaper up to the right of here. It’s “not real” either, but has a lot of good info 🙂
